Despite many of the disagreements to my article many people who do use Linux agree with some basic goals of the Linux desktop community...

1 - Increase the adoption and use of the operating system. Turn it from a niche OS to a popular choice.
2 - Have more applications and have those applications to be truly great, not just mediocre clones and copies of other applications.
3 - Have the hardware and software work as expected with less frustration.

There are certainly other common goals but these goals don't seem to be too contentious. The focus of this talk is going to address these goals.
